Et point intéressant, il y a aussi de nombreux contre exemples, dont l'absence pêche parfois dans les ouvrages de ce type (ex : réciproque fausse, passage à la dimension infinie rend une propriété fausse etc.)Il y a de nombreuses biographies qui viennent s'insérer dans le livre, ce qui en soi n'est pas utile, mais permet d'aérer le livre et d'humaniser les mathématiques.J'étais cependant étonné de ne pas avoir certaines notions (équivalence entre la définition séquentielle d'un compact et la propriété de Borel-Lebesgue, par exemple), mais cela n'est peut être plus au programme de MP.En soi, je ne sais pas dire s'il est adapté au programme de MP, mais il est excellent pour se remettre dans le bain.

Livre très complet (un des rares livres de MP-MP* qui contienne une preuve du théorème de convergence dominée).Toutes les démonstrations sont très claires et les exercices bien choisis et corrigés.Les notes historiques ajoutent un caractère vivant à l'apprentissage mathématique.Bravo !

Ouvrage agréable dans sa mise en page, mais l'essentiel n'est pas là . La belle réussite de ce livre est sa pédagogie et ses illustrations : sans excès techniques et progressif. Vivement conseillé pour débuter son apprentissage des Mathématiques.

Ce livre est super mais le seul defaut est que il y'a du mieux à faire niveau redaction.Le programme est comple,les exemples remarquables,le cours bvien expliqué mais souvent un peu dense(peu etre du au fait que c'est destiné aussi à l'agregation).

Très bon livre, bien présenté, agréable a lire on ne s’ennuie pas, des démonstration claire avec un petit rappel historique sur les mathématiciens qui ont fait progresser les maths.

For those who follow business stories like football games, his tale of the rise, fall and rise of IBM might be the ultimate slow-motion replay. He became IBM's CEO in 1993, when the gargantuan company was near collapse. The book's opening section snappily reports Gerstner's decisions in his first 18 months on the job-the critical "sprint" that moved IBM away from the brink of destruction. The following sections describe the marathon fight to make IBM once again "a company that mattered." Gerstner writes most vividly about the company's culture. On his arrival, "there was a kind of hothouse quality to the place. It was like an isolated tropical ecosystem that had been cut off from the world for too long. As a result, it had spawned some fairly exotic life-forms that were to be found nowhere else." One of Gerstner's first tasks was to redirect the company's attention to the outside world, where a marketplace was quickly changing and customers felt largely ignored. He succeeded mightily. Upon his retirement this year, IBM was undeniably "a company that mattered." Gerstner's writing occasionally is myopic. For example, he makes much of his own openness to input from all levels of the company, only to mock an earnest (and overlong) employee e-mail (reprinted in its entirety) that was critical of his performance. Also, he includes a bafflingly long and dull appendix of his collected communications to IBM employees. About the Author

Lou Gerstner, Jr., served as chairman and chief executive officer of IBM from April 1993 until March 2002, when he retired as CEO. He remained chairman of the board through the end of 2002. Before joining IBM, Mr. Gerstner served for four years as chairman and CEO of RJR Nabisco, Inc. This was preceded by an eleven-year career at the American Express Company, where he was president of the parent company and chairman and CEO of its largest subsidiary. Prior to that, Mr. Gerstner was a director of the management consulting firm of McKinsey & Co., Inc. He received a bachelor's degree in engineering from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Let me be clear on this. The core concepts are the same, however what was not noted is the fact that the excerpts, examples, and pictures are pretty different. Instead of using popular brands/American leaders, it only refrences people from India, as the paperback version is actually an Indian copy. Get the hardcover for class if in America so it is better to follow along. Other than that, the book is usable but its not the same.

Rented this book last month for grad school. As far as texbooks are concerned, this one is very easy to read and comprehend, which is a plus when the school term is moving so fast. I would say that my class only covered probably about half of the book (in my class we used both this book and another book called Operations Management), but what we covered from this book was very helpful. The examples used to illustrate principles such as conflict, leadership, diversity, etc were very relatable to my day to day working environment. If your class uses this book, this one will be one of your more enjoyable ones.

This was an easy read textbook, especially for beginners interested in understanding the break down of human behavior in a work-place environment or any organization in general. This offers an insightful outlook into social behaviors, individual behaviors and how the organization itself plays into these factors. This book enticed me into becoming an Industrial and Organizational Psychologist. Sincerely recommended.

The intentional version is the same as the American version. Even though the book shipped with creases, it can be ignored. If you are looking for a cheaper version, get this one. Just to be aware that the page numbers are different than the American one.

I bought the loose leaf version because I will be doing some traveling two weeks during the course. With loose leaf, I can take whatever chapters I need during the trip, lightening the travel load. It's nice the price is a little cheaper than the hardcover. Being proactive, I bought this a week in advance of the course. However, I soon realized this didn't come with the self assessment library CD or an access code to the online version. I later read some of the hardcover reviews also complained of no access code included. There should be a warning on both the loose leaf and hardcover descriptions stating no access code is included. Code to be purchased separately. After spending $100+ on the book, adding the cost of the access code (or CD) is quite pricey.....and the prices vary from $25 to $65 (using Google). The warning would help students allocate their budget, and give them a chance to ask the professor/teacher if the assessment is actually needed for class - before purchasing one.

Content:Excellent. Well organized and clearly written.My only criticism would be that some of the content is only surface oriented - which makes sense as the book would be double the size if it was more detailed on each topic.Value Edition:The papers are very slim and can rip if turned to hard when placed in a normal binder. In addition, if you use a highlighter it tends to bleed through to the other side.Software works perfectly.Overall:I'd buy it again to save some money but this is one of those books that you may want to keep (and thus buy a hardcover) if you're really into the topic.

I was shocked when I received this book: it's tiny! You'd expect something priced like this to at least be 300 pages, but this flimsy paperback grandly flaunts its rip-you-off-because-you-have-no-choice-ness.My professor, Dr. Jago (see Jago's theory of management), said that it was the best book available, but also occasionally pointed out its flaws. The content of the book is, in the end, pretty good. I just can't get over the blatant gauging.

This book is well structured and focused; and covers all the key elements of Organizational Behavior in an easy way to understand. I am majoring in Leadership Studies and I have been reading books on this subject and talking to professionals. What I like the most about this text is that how simple and well organized it is; it flows from one chapter to another, and you can easily find answers to all the key concepts you need to know. This book will provide you with all the tools you need to start your journey towards understanding and responding to the behavior of people in real world organizations. Enjoy it.

Thomas R. Dye, Emeritus McKenzie Professor of Government at Florida State University, regularly taught large introductory classes in American politics. He received his B. A. and M. A. degrees from Pennsylvania State University and his Ph. D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of numerous books and articles on American government and public policy, including The Irony of Democracy; Politics in States and Communities; Understanding Public Policy; Who’s Running America?; American Politics in the Media Age; Power in Society; Politics, Economics, and the Public; and American Federalism: Competition Among Governments. His books have been translated into many languages, including Russian and Chinese, and published abroad. Dye has served as president of the Southern Political Science Association, president of the Policy Studies Organization, and secretary of the American Political Science Association. He has taught at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of Georgia, and served as a visiting scholar at Bar-Ilan University, Israel; the Brookings Institution in Washington, D. Everything I knew about Tarot cards was completely wrong. That is the first thing that I noticed when I started reading this introduction into the art of Tarot card reading. I always thought that Tarot card reading was just some goofy way of “telling the future.” Something that you do for others and that you can get paid to do. In actuality, it is a much more spiritually enlightening experience. From what the book discusses, Tarot cards are meant to enable one to be more aware and to see possibilities when normally it would be difficult. These ideas are fascinating especially for someone who practices eastern faiths like the Dao and Buddhism. Reading the book, it is obvious the author has a true passion for the subject and even discusses the sacred nature of just picking which tarot cards to buy. Even intricate details like a list of websites to buy decks and a simple way to shuffle your deck are all in here. Of course, then it gets into the nitty gritty and discusses the meanings behind the cards and their shadow halves as well. This book taught me a lot and now I really want to try it. I probably won't do readings for others but I would like to see what paths of possibilities are out there for myself.

I got this book on Wends and today it’s sat & im basically done with it . I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone else who wants to learn about tarot cards.

Since Kindle, it’s easier than ever to learn about the cards on, without broadcasting to the world what you’re reading.This book includes lovely color pictures, which are easy to enlarge on the kindle, and a vast improvement over that little tiny booklet that comes with most decks. With the ground covered on the history and background of the tarot, and the more in-depth explanations of the Major and Minor Arcanas and the How To Do a Tarot Reading section, is well worth the price on this one, and the Table of Contents with Links make it easy to jump to a particular card and suit for reference.In addition to being a well-written guide for beginners, complete with sample readings for the the Three Card and Celtic Cross Spreads, the portability factor inherent to a Kindle book makes this well worth the price, and I highly recommend it. Then goes into the meaning behind the specific cards, complete with pictures, so you can recognize them in your own deck. Finally Steyson explains how to do a tarot reading. What I liked best about this book is the fact that she writes in clear, concise sentences that are easy to understand. Since this is my first time looking into the art of tarot reading, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had no prior knowledge. Steyson’s book provides both the background and the explanation I needed.

This book is fantastic for beginner's looking to go through learning about Tarot cards-from buying the deck to learning the meanings of each card and how to read for others. It is written in a way that makes it very easy to understand and follow allow and has pictures to go along with it to help. The price is great for the Kindle edition, which is what I got.
