Donald A. Hodges is Covington Distinguished Professor of Music Education and Director of the Music Research Institute at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I was leafing through old, public domain Christian stories back in 2013, and when I came across Eliza Lee Follen's Honest Bird, I knew it was a story I wanted to do something with and get back in front of people.

After playing around with the character sketches for a while I finally came up with something I liked, and the book came together pretty quickly.

It's always good when we can read something together as a family, enjoy the pictures, and come away with a great message. I hope parents and their kids will enjoy reading this as much as I had enjoyed drawing it.

About the Author

Gayanne Grossman taught modern dance technique for 22 years and has provided dance-specific physical therapy for 26 years. She holds a BFA in dance, a BS in physical therapy from the Univesity of Utah, and an EdM in dance education from Temple University. She is the director of dance wellness, resident physical therapist, and an instructor of anatomy, kinesiology, and dance conditioning for the department of theatre and dance at Muhlenberg College. She has served on the board of directors of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS) and the Performing Arts Special Interest Group of the American Physical Therapy Association. She lives in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
