Charles Wright (the Amazon listing has the name wrong) and his team undertook an intensive survey of land, soils, farming communities, and resource use in Belize (then British Honduras) in 1954, producing this comprehensive 327 page report with six foldout maps. The black and white maps illustrate topics such as landforms and Maya archeological sites. The volume is of great value as an extensively researched, thoughtful, and detailed record of resource use and agricultural practice in Belize in the mid-twentieth century. For each region the authors consider issues concerning processes of change in land use such as the effect of expanding sugar cane plantation on the land-extensive milpa (slash and burn corn farming) agriculture and the impact of hurricanes and over-harvesting on chicle (natural rubber) producers. An unusual appreciation for the rights and potential of Belize's Maya Indians is evident throughout, especially in Appendix 1, "The Agricultural Potential of the Maya Indian," where they write "...they represent the most valuable agricultural asset in British Honduras, worth a dozen overseas investors, development corporations and the like." Introduction

The Purana is a class of literature that treats of ancient religion, philosophy, history, sociology, politics and other subjects. It is an Encyclopaedia of various branches of knowledge and ancient wisdom. It has been defined as a class of literature that contains material on the topics of Creation, Dissolution of Manus, Ages of Manus, Genealogies and the History of glorious kings. For dealing primarily with these subjects it has been called Pancalaksana a little that was incorporated in the Puranas themselves and had become popular by the Fifth Century A.D., for it was included by Amarasimha in his lexicon 'Amarakosa'. But as the process of interpolation continued, the Pancalaksana definition was found inadequate. The Puranic redactors adopted a Dasalaksana definition that suited the contemporary text. Still the dynamic forces were at work and the process of insertion, modification and abridgement went on and it was soon discovered that the Dasalaksana definition too fell short of an actual fact. It was found that the puranas contained certain aspects that were not covered by any of the five or ten characteristics. Besides some of the characteristics covered by the Pancalaksana or Dasalaksana definition were not found in certain Puranas.

In fact the Purana as a class represents the different phases and aspects of life of diverse ages. It is impossible to adopt a standard definition for the class of literary composition that contains heterogeneous phases and aspects. Moreover, a definition framed on the numerical basis of points is bound to be imperfect.

The Puranas are divided into two classes the Mahapuranas and the Upapuranas. Each class consists of eighteen puranas. Thus the number of the Puranas is thirty

Bob Frissell is merely repeating what's all ready been said in Drunvalo Melchizedek's fascinating Flower of Life books. Why even bother writing this one unless it is to capitalize on the original? The diagrams and examples in "Nothing in This Book is True, But it's Exactly How Things Are," are even taken from Melchizedek's. How disappointing this was to me. This is like the condensed, extremely condensed, version of a superior work (confounding as it is!). In any case, there's lots of talk about secret societies, crop circles, aliens, ascended masters, the pyramids, Mars, etc., etc., etc. You can find information on this stuff in many, many other books as well. I find it intriguing that every book I read about these matters offers a different explanation. It appears that there are many different versions of "how things are" out there and I certainly cannot buy what the title of this book indicates; that the information given here is, in fact, "HOW THINGS ARE." Read this, certainly, for a bit of mind expansion or read it for a bit of fun (however, the sacred geometry does go a bit over the edge, as in The Flower of Life books). But don't take it too seriously. There are lots of other explanations as to who we are, why we're here, where we came from, where we are going, and who is walking among us. Who's right? Who's not right? Who is close to being right? It's all so complicated, isn't it? Yep.

I love this book! one of my all time favorites. Rebought it for a friend.

Thoroughly enjoyable. I was fascinated by this book and the subjects it covered. It was difficult to put down. I knew I had to pass it on to one of my kids, so unfortunately I may have to purchase another copy for myself.

Each chapter is better then the last. Bob Frissel dove into everything for vibration theory and sacred geometry. Totally worth the read, in fact I read each chapter twice to fully absorb the information given.

Got this book for my girlfriend and I to read. I heard about it because of the song 46&2 by Tool. It is awesome and very interesting.

Fun read. Enjoyed

This is a truly awesome book. I believe it explains so much and makes total sense to me. I bought it for a friend because everyone should know these things!
